Books That Deserve a Reread and I Plan On Giving Them That

Hello, Book Nerds! Welcome back to Reading Has Ruined My Life or welcome if you are new. As always, my name is Hannah and I am your captain on this journey into my bookcases.

How's everyone doing today?

As much as I love reading new books, I need a good reread every now and again. There are some, and by some I mean many, books on my shelves that captured my imagination but I haven’t picked up in ages. I have favorite novels I want to crack open but haven’t had the time. I’ve also forgotten the plot of a lot of the books I own and would like to learn about them again.

Which is why I’m creating this list. I have tons of books that I want to pick up again. These are the ones I plan on rereading at some point this year. Ideally I’d be able to reread everything on my bookshelves and tons of new releases, but I can’t stop time…yet. With that, let’s get to the list!

6. Kicking off today’s list is The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. You’re going to hear me say the following a lot in today’s post so get ready. It has been ages since I’ve gotten to enjoy this read. And I want to enjoy this beautifully aesthetic book! Seriously, The Night Circus is my desired aesthetic. I’m a sucker for the black, white, and red combo. Plus I’ve forgotten a decent chunk of the main plot so I can now be surprised again when I pick this read up.

5. Next up is The Final Girl Support Group by Grady Hendrix. Camp at its best! I don’t think the plot is really strong, but I loved all the inserts in between chapters. I loved all the slasher movie references. I simply want to enjoy the camp again.

4. I have another horror read up next. Meet The Last Days of Jack Sparks by Jason Arnopp. Part comedy, part ghost story, part cautionary tale, this book used to be one of my favorites. It was my go-to recommendation for a while; although it was a mixed bag when those I told to read it would give me their report. It has now been many years since I’ve cracked into this one so I’m well overdue for a reread.

3. Next up is The Selection series by Kiera Cass. I haven’t read this series in ages! Most certainly two years at the very least. And The Selection is one of, if not, my favorite book series to ever grace my life. There are some of you out there who don’t believe that I, the girl who mainly reads horror and thriller books on this blog, is obsessed with this romance series. But I am! I am. And I’m going to reread it this year. Definitely the original trilogy, the jury’s out on The Heir and The Crown. But the original trilogy is an absolute must for me this year.

2. Another series brings us in at number two. I will reread the Stalking Jack the Ripper series by Kerri Maniscalco. I read each book when it released, I've never reread any of the books though. I remember enjoying them. I remember the main plot. I’d like to enjoy the series and learn all the little details again.

1. Finally, bringing us in at number one, we have the one and only The 7½ of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton. Pointless sidenote time, in my head I call this book The 7½ Deaths of Evelyn Hugo cause I’m so good at keeping names straight. Anyway that is neither here nor there. The 7½ Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle was a twisty turny tale that I desperately want to read again. I want to see if I can pick up on details that make more sense if you’ve already read the story and/or some details or clues that point to the ending.

Thus endeth our list! Tell me, what books do you plan on rereading this year? Fingers crossed I can get to all these great reads.

With that, I shall bid you all adieu. I will see you all again next week with a new review.

Until then, stay safe, wash your hands, and read some good books for me.

See y'all then, bye!
